Meconopsis argemontha

Meconopsis argemonantha is said by Kit Grey-Wilson to be a member of the Series Primulina and is known only from S.E.Tibet. Distinctive features are the solitary flowers which are white or pale yellow. We are fortunate to be able to illustrate it with a good photograph taken by Anne Chambers (1). Anne says that is was "growing on cliffs at the east end of the Tsari valley near the start of the ascent to the Bimbi La. It's not a big species - about 250 mm tall and the flowers are 40-50 mm in diameter. We saw very few plants. This site is about 100 miles from the Tawang district that Taylor cites in his monograph and our altitude was about 1000 ft less".
